2ne1 Debut At SBS Inkigayo

2ne1 SBS Debut

2ne1 performed their highly-anticipated TV debut at SBS Inkigayo yesterday (May 17) with a bang. The newest girl group from YG Entertainment performed their debut hit song “FIRE” to a live studio audience. Preceding the live performance was a wicked intro consisting of elevators, bodyguards, and captivating dance moves.

Both Minzy and CL’s performances were top-notch. The two girls showed their tough-as-nails attitude especially Minzy, who doesn’t really show her age during the performance (she’s only 15), gave the most lasting impression among the four. I read a comment suggesting that Minzy and CL should just perform as a duo as the two obviously have far more superior  talent than BOM and DARA. I’d also like to see that happen someday coz their tandem will definitely kick some cutesy k-pop duo’s butt (*cough* DAVICHI *cough*) out of kimchiland.

BOM and DARA’s debut performance were ok for a rookie debut but they need to step it up a notch next time to equalize and even surpass the efforts being shown by both MINZY and CL. DARA was also being harshly criticized as not singing loud enough to be heard through the backing vocals as she was supposed to be singing live together with the group.

IMHO, 2ne1’s debut performance at SBS Inkigayo showed a lot of promise for the group (MINZY and CL) but also revealed some minor flaws that definitely needs improvement (BOM and DARA).

I’m pretty sure the whole thing is lip-synced, so if there were problems with Dara’s volume, it was probably because of the recording…
