I know a lot of my Korean officemates will be thrilled (*cough* iPad 3 Sale in Korea *cough*) with this latest buzz from Apple Korea.
The 3rd iteration of the massively popular next generation tablet computing device from Apple – the iPad 3, is expected to be released and sold in Korea next month.
According to South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency, Apple Corp. – the Cupertino based digital and software giant – recently applied for the iPad 3’s mandatory radio wave certification, which is required by the Korean government to check the compatibility of all electronic products that are planned to be sold in Korea.
Based on last year’s Korean market release of the iPhone 4s, Apple released the popular smartphone 3 weeks after the company applied for the radio wave certificate at the National Radio Research Agency. This trend, in regards to the release of their new products, has been an informal practice of Apple in Korea according to the radio agency. So, if the trend continues, Korean market experts are predicting that the iPad 3 will hit the streets of South Korea in mid-April this year.
With its fast dual core A5x chip, 4G LTE specs, and gorgeous Retina display, the iPad 3 is expected to challenge once again this year Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Tab series dominance in the highly lucrative Korean electronics consumer industry.
